NOC registers consecutive wins

Georgetown, Guyana - Host New Opportunity Corps (NOC) Under-19 team registered successive victories over Charity Secondary School in two limited overs matches played on Saturday last on the Essequibo Coast.
The home team won the first game which was of 25 overs duration by 9 wickets.
Charity batted first after winning the toss and were bowled out for 104 in 20.4 overs. Opener Wayne Fernandes scored 30 (3×4) and Arnold Wells supported with 18. Nelon Codogan snared 2 for 15 from 5 overs while Akieni Adams claimed 2 for 19.
In reply NOC reached their target for the lost of one wicket in 18 overs. Vice Captain David Williams led with 39 (4×4 1×6) while Alex Etwaroo and Sachin Persaud made 16 each; extras contributed a healthy 34.
NOC won the second encounter which was a 15-over affair by six wickets. Charity took first strike and were bowled out for 64 in 13 overs. Joseph Ally 15(2×4) and Suraj Jagmohan 12 (2×4) were the only batsmen that made it into double figures. Codogan was chief destroyer with 3 for 12 off 3 overs while Norman Singh snared 2 for 6 off 2 overs.
NOC scored 65-4 in 12 overs in response. David Belgrave made 16 (1×6), Sachin Persaud and Norman Singh chipped in with 14 and 10 respectively; Kesho Rooplall grabbed 3 for 17 from 3 overs. The games were organized as part of the NOC cricket development programme.
