Nicholas faced 115 balls and batted for almost two hours as the Ottley XI reached 228 for five at stumps in reply to the Mohammed XI first innings total of 276 all out.
Augustus top-scored with 85 on day one of the contest to set up the Mohammed XI innings. They were 240 for eight when their innings resumed yesterday, with Yannic Cariah batting with the tail to get the score up to 276 before he gave a return catch to Imran Khan (three for 31) for 45.
Adrian Barath and Evin Lewis then capitalised on the good batting track to put on 94 for the first wicket.
Barath hit 47 off 68 balls before he attacked a wide ball from left-arm spinner Derone Davis (one for 34) and edged to wicketkeeper Stephen Katwaroo shortly after lunch.
Lewis was on 43 off 53 balls before he was lbw to off-spinner Amit Jaggernauth (two for 25) with no change to the score.
Kjorn Ottley (29) and Nicholas then put on 41 for the third wicket before Jaggernauth struck again, this time hitting Ottley’s off-stump with the score on 135.
Nicholas shared a fourth wicket stand worth 73 with Sherwin Ganga before he was trapped lbw by Ricky Jaipaul (one for 20).
