Moosai women start KO title defence

Trinidad Express article.

Port of Spain, Trinidad - After retaining their Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Cricket Association Premiership 40-overs trophy, Moosai Sports now turn their attention to their Knock Out 30-over title defence.

They face Championship Division side UWI in Round One of the Knock Out competition today at UWI from 12 p.m.

Meanwhile, Championship Division winners Hibiscus Ladies, runners-up to Moosai in the knock out competition last year, will tackle last place team West Side Giants at Buggy Haynes Ground in Tacarigua in another key match today.

Last year’s losing semi-finalists Phoenix Women, who finished the Premiership in second place, will face South West United at Lange Park while the other losing semifinalists Technocrats face San Rafael Ladies at Rampaul/Ramdin Ground in Preysal.

The second round of the knock out takes place tomorrow with the winner of the Moosai/UWI game playing the winner of the Technocrats/San Rafael Ladies match at El Dorado West Secondary. The semi-finals of the tournament take place on May 17 and the final will be played a day later at UWI.
