KIngston, Jamaica - After last weekend's break, the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) two-day Senior Cup competition resumes with title-holders Melbourne Cricket Club travelling to Up Park Camp to battle hosts Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) in today's semi-final.

In the other semi-final clash, Kingston CC welcome Manchester Cricket Association to Sabina Park.

Both matches are set to commence at 10:00 am.

Melbourne, who ended second to rivals Kingston CC in Zone D during the preliminary phase, reached the last four after trouncing St Catherine CA in the quarter-final two weeks ago.

The Melbourne team are expected to have a hard time contending with the JDF, who topped a competitive Zone C to advance to the quarter-final. There they dismantled Westmoreland CA by 10 wickets.

The other semi-final will also be a difficult one to call as both teams have rounded into decent form towards the tail-end of the competition.

Kingston, the Zone D winners, comfortably beat St Ann CA by six wickets in the quarters.

Former champions Manchester, who were runners-up in Zone B, reached the semis after sealing first innings advantage in the drawn encounter with the highly fancied St Elizabeth CA.
