Lewis keen to recover from Super50 snub

Kingston, Jamaica - Opener Kennar Lewis says he has put the disappointment of not making last season's national Super50 squad behind him, and is looking forward to correcting the situation during this season's trial matches.
The fixtures, numbering five, and which will be used by the Wavell Hinds-led national selection panel to select a tournament squad of 14, are slated to bowl off today at Sabina Park.
"It was a bit of disappointment not making the team last season after being a part of the winning team the previous season," said Lewis, who was a reserve.
"But that is how it goes sometimes. It has pushed me to work harder on my game and I think I have improved a lot.
"I am just now looking forward to the trials so that I can put into practice what I have learned," added the 21-year-old.
The hard-hitting Lewis, who has represented the country in five Super50 and three Twenty20 matches, is hoping to build on his standout performance in the second of two trial warm-up matches last week at Sabina Park
On a low and turning pitch which offered up low individual and team totals, Lewis made 40 and 29 to emerge as one of the top batsmen.
However, if not for final scores themselves, it was the manner in which he applied himself, which would have put him in a good light with the selectors.
