Leewards One-Day Tournament bowls off today

St John's, Antigua: The best players in the Leeward Islands will take to the fields on Staurday as the annual NAGICO-sponsored Leeward Islands limited-overs tournament bowls off. This year the matches will be played in Anguilla and St Maarten and run until the grand final on Sunday, October 3.

In the opening round today, Anguilla will be at home against Montserrat while St Maarten entertain Nevis. The second round will be played on Sunday, with Antigua and Barbuda against St Kitts in Anguilla and Montserrat facing St Maarten in St Maarten.

WICB Regional 50 Over bowls off on October 14

St John's, Antigua - The WICB announces that the WICB Regional 50 Over Tournament 2010 will bowl off on October 14th with host Jamaica taking on Windward Islands and Trinidad & Tobago playing Combined Campuses & Colleges.

Hughes runs hot again at Lord's but Derbyshire lose

Chesney Hughes continued his impressive form with a half-century for Derbyshire but his side still went under to Middlesex in the English County 40-Over competition at Lord's on Saturday. The left-handed opener batted with great freedom to hit 64 from 59 balls but Derbyshire suffered a seven-wicket, their eighth defeat in 12 games.

WICB and Digicel join forces to launch Youth Development Programme

Bridgetown, Barbados: The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and Digicel, proud sponsor of cricket in the West Indies today announced details of the Digicel Youth Cricket Development Programme. The two-year agreement will see youth development clinics take place in all WICB territorial boards – Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Windward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago – with hundreds of aspiring young cricketers being coached in the basic skills of the game, with a view to creating a pool of talented young West Indian cricketers.

Hughes plays amazing knock as Derbyshire record historic win

Chesney Hughes played a superb innings for Derbyshire to help them record an amazing come-from-behind victory in their English County Cricket match against Gloucestershire on Wednesday. For Derbyshire it was one of the most astonishing wins in history as they recovered from being bowled out for just 44 in their first innings to beat Gloucestershire by 54 runs.
