5th day tickets free for all fans!

Georgetown, Guyana–Tickets for the fifth day of the First and Second Digicel Tests West Indies v Pakistan will be free for all fans.

The initiative is part of the continued thrust by the WICB to reward faithful fans for coming out to the games over the years in addition to bringing fans back to cricket.

Fans will still require tickets to enter the Guyana National Stadium and Warner Park on the fifth days and can collect these at the usual ticket locations in Guyana and St Kitts.

Baugh replaces Thomas in ODI squad

Bridgetown, Barbados– The West Indies Cricket Board Selection Committee has called up wicket-keeper Carlton Baugh to replace Devon Thomas in the West Indies squad for the 1st and 2nd Digicel One-Day Internationals against Pakistan in St Lucia.

Thomas has been diagnosed with chicken pox and has returned to Antigua. Baugh will join the squad in Barbados for the ongoing pre-series camp and will travel with team unit to St Lucia.

Martin ready for Pakistan

Bridgetown, BarbadosNew West Indies leg-spinner Anthony Martin has already given a lot of thought to how he will approach the upcoming matches against Pakistan. The 28-year-old Policeman from Antigua is a clever operator and is planning how best to utilise his skills when he comes up against the visitors.

The lion-hearted Martin was impressive for the West Indies A Team in England last year, and was brilliant for the Leeward Islands in the WICB 50 Over Tournament, when he took a superb hat-trick and led them to a share of the title.

Digicel Grassroots Cricket launched

St John’s, Antigua – The Digicel Grassroots Cricket Programme is being launched all across the Caribbean. Launches were held in Antigua, St Lucia and Nevis on Thursday and Friday.

In Antigua the launch was at the world famous Antigua Recreation Ground while in St Lucia the launch was at the Beausejour Cricket Grounds and in Nevis at the Elquemedo Willett Park.

Board of Directors to review Draft Strategic Plan 2011-2016

St John’s, AntiguaThe Board of Directors of the West Indies Cricket Board will meet on Friday March 25 and Saturday March 26 at the Rex Halcyon Hotel in Antigua.

The major item on the agenda for the meeting is the Draft Strategic Plan for 2011-2016 which was prepared by the WICB management and which will be presented to President Dr. Julian Hunte, Vice President Whycliffe ‘Dave’ Cameron and directors for their review.
