PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD - Kriston Kallicharan continues to mesmerise the youth cricket scene in T&T, blasting 132 to lead the East Zone to a crushing 206-run victory over North-East as action bowled off in the BGTT Under-13 InterZone 45-over competition yesterday.

Batting first at Honeymoon Park in this 38-over enconter due to overnight rain, opening batsman Kallicharan struck eleven fours and seven sixes to lead his team to 275/3.

His knock included a 22-run over, which included two sixes and two fours. Leonardo Julien contributed an unbeaten 45, while Jonathan Balkaran pitched in with 29.

When North-East got to the crease, Kallicharan showed his lethal ablity with the ball as well. He grabbed 7/11 in eight overs with his leg spin, while Daniel Khan finished with 2/12 to dismiss North-East for 69.

Andy Mahase offered some resistance, scoring 12. The East Zone will face North in their next encounter on Monday. Over at Happy Hill, Rousillac, fast bowler Kyle Madoo also got the Central Zone off to a winning start, as they cruised past South-West by ten wickets.

Central captain Crystian Thurton won the toss and chose to field. Madoo, who was also part of the U-15 Central team that made it to the final of the U-15 tournamnet, was in fine form, taking 4/17.

Another U-15 player, Brandon Ali, was also among the wickets, grabbing 2/8 as South-West were dismissed for a paltry 62 in 20 overs. In their run chase, Central seemed to be in a hurry, getting to 63 without loss in eight overs.

Thurton, who has been called up to the national U-15 squad, top-scored with 36. Ali played the supporting role, scoring 15 in the comfortable win.
