Justin Brathwaite slams brisk century as St. John beat St. Joseph in UWI T20 opener

Bridgetown, Barbados - Barbados Twenty20 batsman Justin Brathwaite slammed a boundary-studded, unbeaten century to help set up a crushing 76-run win for St. John Crusaders over St. Joseph Titans in the opening match of the 2013 UWI CO Williams Inter-Parish Invitational T20 tournament at 3Ws Oval on Friday night.
Left-hander Brathwaite scored 126 not out off 65 balls with 12 sixes and two fours as St. John amassed 190 for three off 20 overs after winning the toss.
Brathwaite and another left-hander Shayne Moseley, added 178 off 116 balls for the first wicket with Moseley scoring 49 off the same number of balls with three fours.
St. Joseph were limited to 114 for eight.
Dominica and Windward Islands opener Tyrone Theophile, who is a member of the Sagicor West Indies High Performance Centre, topscored with 20.
Another HPC member, Trinidad & Tobago left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein, who topped the bowling averages in the 2013 BCA LIME Elite division championship as a Super Centre Spartan player, grabbed three for 18, Barbados and West Indies 'A' team off-spinner Ashley Nurse, three for 28 and another off-spinner, Amory Holder two 24 - all off four overs.
