Jones, Skeete spur Foundation to 50-run win over Harrison College in Joel Garner T20

Bridgetown, Barbados - All-rounder Aaron Jones and medium-pacer Charles Skeete made vital contributions with bat and ball as Foundation School beat Harrison College Old Scholars by 50 runs in the fifth match of the sixth annual Christ Church Foundation School Joel Garner Twenty20 tapeball tournament.
On a cold, windy Monday night at Briar Hall, Foundation, fielding nine players who featured in two of the Church Hill-based school's recent Barbados Cricket Association titles - the Intermediate and Goddard Enterprises divisions - scored 119 for five off 20 overs after winning the toss in the Lewin/Gilpin Jones Brothers Zone 'B'.
Jones, a Barbados Under-19 team player for the past two years, topscored with 33 off 36 balls including three fours.
Coach Nhamo Winn made 24 off 21 balls with three boundaries as well, while opener Lee-Germon Gaskin contributed 13 and captain Joshua Drakes (12).
Skipper and medium-pacer Marcel Murrell took two for 26 off four overs, while former Barbados captain and West Indies fast bowling all-rounder Ian Bradshaw was fairly economical in picking up one for ten off four overs.
Harrison College Old Scholars made 69 off 18.1 overs with Armani Best's 14 the only double-figure contribution.
Skeete grabbed four for ten and leg-spinner Drakes, two for 11 - both off four overs.
Jones, who also held two fine catches and Skeete jointly won the Baron's Smokehouse $100 Player-of-the-Match award, which was presented by patron of the tournament Joel Garner, the former Barbados captain and iconic West Indies fast bowler.
The tournament continues on Wednesday, January 29 at Dover at 7 p.m. with St. Leonard's Old Scholars opposing newcomers Grantley Adams Old Scholars whose team includes former Barbados and West Indies batsman Dale Richards, in the Barry Gaskin/Bran Williams Zone 'D'.
