St Vincent take first strike as Women's League bowls off

Kingstown, St Vincent – The West Indies Cricket Board Women’s League 50-over Tournament 2010 gets underway today in St Vincent. In their opening match host St Vincent won the toss and opted to bat first against Grenada at the Arnos Vale 2 ground.

The match between Trinidad and Tobago has been moved from Sion Hill due to a wet ground and is now slated to be played at Victoria Park. There will be a delayed start.

Updates in the St Lucia v Dominica (at Stubbs) and Jamaica v Barbados (Arnos Vale 1) encounters are to follow shortly.

Trini girls set to defend title at Windies Women's Tourney

Defending champions Trinidad and Tobago will face Guyana in their opening match of the West Indies Cricket Board's Women's League 50-over tournament in St Vincent. The Trinidadians will be looking to get off to a winning start when the two sides meet at the Sion Hill Playing Field on Thursday at 10 am (9 am Jamaica Time).

WICB announces list of approved cricket

In order to aid in protecting the integrity of cricket in the region, for the first time the West Indies Cricket Board has decided compile and publicly announce the complete list of all approved cricket within its jurisdiction.

"The WICB takes very seriously it’s responsibility in overseeing cricket in the West Indies and as such we are making public the list of approved cricket so that there can be no doubt by any stakeholder as to what matches or events are approved by the WICB,” WICB CEO Dr. Ernest Hilaire outlined.
