Jaggernauth spins out seven
Trinidad Express article.
Port of Spain, Trinidad - Veteran off-spinner Amit Jaggernauth grabbed seven for 22 yesterday to put Queen’s Park Cricket Club on top against PowerGen on the first day of the Premier Division two-day league match at Syne Village in Penal yesterday.
Jaggernauth’s seven-wicket haul plus Barbados pacer Fidel Edwards’ two for 20 helped dismiss the defending champions PowerGen for 97 in their first innings despite an unbeaten 58 from Guyanese batsman Rajindra Chandrika.
The Parkites were 24 for two at stumps yesterday and will be looking to take a first innings lead when the match resumes today.
Elsewhere, another Bajan took the spotlight as Sharmarh Brooks hit 121 to lead Caldrac Club to 270 when they batted first against Seenath’s Auto Bamboo Sports at Bamboo Recreation Ground.
Mark Deyal also helped boost Caldrac’s total with his 54.
Bamboo were 59 for one at stumps with a long way to go if they are to win first innings points.
All matches continue today from 9:30 a.m.
