Guyana Times article.
Georgetown, Guyana - Guyana first-class selectee Shimron Hetmyer hit his second consecutive half century for Young Warriors in the ongoing 2014 Elizabeth Styles Under-19, 50-over cricket competition in Berbice when he slammed 92 against Edinburgh in Zone ‘B’.
His knock, which included 10 fours and two sixes, together with 84 (9x4s, 4x6s) from Zachery Persaud, enabled Warriors to reach 274 in 38.1 overs.
When Edinburgh replied, Joseph Giddings made 65 (7x4s, 1×6) and Jerome Andrews 50 (10x4s), but they could reply with only 186 in 35 overs.
In Zone ‘A’, after the Cotton Tree Die Hard bowlers did reasonably well to bowl out Acheivers ‘A’ for 113 in 13.3 overs, the Acheivers opening bowlers, Guyana Under-17 pacer Grisean Grant and off-spinner Lawrence Sears returned identical bowling figures of 5-9 each to collectively bowl out Cotton Tree for just 18 runs in 5.4 overs.
