Haynes new Chair of Legends Barbados

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Former West Indies batting great Desmond Haynes has been appointed the new Chairman of the Cricket Legends of Barbados (CLOBI).

The 55-year-old takes over from Ian Bradshaw, the former West Indies left-arm allrounder, who was in the position for two years.

Haynes said: “It’s an honour to take over as Chairman. We at CLOBI want to thank Ian for his great service to the organisation and my role is to carry on the great work he did and also look to add value to the work that is ongoing.”

During his playing days Haynes represented the West Indies in 116 Test matches and led the West Indies in Pakistan in 1991.

He formed the greatest opening batting partnership with Gordon Greenidge.

He was the Batting Consultant for the West Indies team in 2011 and Head Coach of the Barbados Tridents in this year’s inaugural Caribbean Premier League.

CLOBI is based on Fontabelle near to Kensington Oval and is home of the official Cricket Museum of Barbados.
