Guytrac 20/20 cricket bowls off in Berbice Sunday
Guyana Times article.
Georgetown, Guyana - Action in the Guyana Tractor and Equipment (Guytrac) 20/20 cricket competition is set to bowl off on Sunday in Upper Corentyne, Berbice, with a total of 10 matches at five venues.
The competition, which was scheduled to start on June 1, was postponed due to the rainy season. It will feature 20 teams, which are affiliated to the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA), and is expected to finish in one month.
The final and third place playoff will be held at the Crabwood Creek ground at a date to be announced.
The tournament is being organised by the UCCA and the organisers are hoping that all teams will play in the spirit of the game of cricket and not be carried away by the fast nature and intensity T20 cricket brings.
Two games will be played at each of the five venues, with the first match starting at 10:00h and the second at 14:00h.
At the Number 70 ground, Number 70 Cricket Club will take on Number 47 Pioneer, followed by Number 72 All Star against Number 70 Young Star.
Over on the Crabwood Creek ground, Number 64 Fighting Marines and Crabwood Creek Rising will clash in the opening game, while Number 69 Red Rose and Number 72 Cut and Load will battle in game two.
The Number 43 ground will be the venue for the Number 43 Scorpion and Number 68 Turn game, followed by a clash between Guytrac XI and Number 48 Challengers, while the Number 69 Vikings ground will host Number 69 Vikings against Young Royals and Number 73 Young Warriors versus Springlands.
At the Number 71 ground, Number 70 MYO will take on Corriverton, after which Number 71 Cricket Club will face Skeldon.
Guytrac, dealers in all heavy duty machinery, spares and the home of Hyundai machines, is located at 215 Cross Street, Mandela Avenue, Georgetown.
