Guyana suffer Chattas injury blow
Georgetown, Guyana - Guyana have suffered another major blow to their Regional Super50 campaign. Seasoned opening batsman Sewnarine Chattergoon suffered a shin injury and has been withdrawn from the squad. He has been replaced by Essequibian top order batsman Norman Fredricks.
Guyana are also missing Shivnarine Chanderpaul who is on West Indies duties; Ramnaresh Sarwan and Narsingh Deonarine who are both injured. Their batting has been severely depleted but they still rallied to win their opening encounter against the Windwards Islands today.
Their key bowler – ICC Emerging Player of the Year Devendra Bishoo – is also with the West Indies team in Bangladesh, furthering affecting the Guyanese’ chances in the Super50.
