Guyana crush Dominica, T&T, JA also win
St George's, Grenada - The first round of matches in the Regional Women's Super50 tournament was completed today with four matches across the island of Grenada.
Here are the results:
AT BEAUSEJOUR CRICKET GROUND - Barbados v T&T
Trinidad and Tobago edged Barbados to kick off their Regional Super50 campaign with a win. After putting in the Bajans, Kirbyina Alexander never allowed the top order batters to settle, ripping through the Bajan batting line-up, taking the top four batters.
Opener, Pamela Levine, fought valiantly for the Bajans, hitting 58 from 81 balls. Her knock included an array of boundaries. But other than her, the big names of the top order failed, including the Knight sisters and Deandra Dottin.
Shaquana Quintyne provided good support in the second half of the batting line-up, hitting 44 from 68 balls. She hit four boundaries in her stay at crease. But only Levine and Quintyne got into double figures for th Bajans. Alexander took 5-38 as Barbados were bowled out over 11 overs short of their allotment, scoring 134 runs.
T&T's response got off to a shaky start and the Red Force women constantly lost wickets. Captain, Merissa Aguilleira and Shenelle Lord though, rescued the T&T Women with knocks of 24 and 34 respectively. Aguilleira hit two fours in her innings while Lord hit three.
Anisa Mohammed would end unbeate on nine, leading the T&T Women to an opening victory by two wickets.

AT PROGRESS PARK - Grenada v St Vincent & The Grenadines
St Vincent and the Grenadines put in a commanding performance with both bat and ball as the girls got their Super50 campaign off to a positive start. After being sent in to bat by Grenada, West Indies Women's batter, Juliana Nero, smashed 86 from 105 balls to lead the Vincy's charge.
She came in with her side in trouble at 2/3, but in her 146-minute stay at the crease, Nero hit eight fours and a six to get the innings back on track. Cordel Jack chipped in with 23 while Terisha Lavia made a quick 34.
The bottom half of the Vincy batting couldn't quite up any resistance though as the visitors were bowled out 227 inside 50 overs. Afy Fletcher took four wickets and Rackel Williams had three to be Grenada's best bowlers.
The Grenadians struggled in their chase of 228 for victory, as they fell in early trouble at 39/2. Anisha Thomas fought hard for the home team but she was run out for 21. Afy Fletcher though starred with the bat as she did with he ball, hitting 62 runs from 86 balls.
She crashed three fours but her innings would turn out to be in vain. Late cameos from Debbie-Ann Lewis (19) and Shanthan Charles (15) could not prevent the St Vincent & the Grenadines winning by 59 runs.

AT LA SAGESSE - Jamaica v St Lucia
Defending Regional Women's Super50 champions, Jamaica, got off to a bang in this year's tournament, seeing off St Lucia by nine wickets. The St Lucians were in early trouble after being asked to bat first, being reduced to 15/2.
Things never got better as all the Jamaican Women's bowlers kept things tight and offered very little for the St Lucian batters. Karlia Cohen was Jamaica Women's best bowler, taking 3-22, while West Indies Women's batter, Stafanie Taylor had 2-13.
The highest score in the St Lucian innings came from Roylin Cooper, who hit a patient 18 runs from 67 balls. The second highest score came down the order from Brendalie Alcide-Weekes who made 16 from 48 balls, including two boundaries. The St Lucians collapsed to 74 all out from 33.4 overs.
In response, the top three Jamaican batters made light work of the sub-par total, easing to victory with over 30 overs to go. Natasha Mc Clean gave the innings a quick start, hitting three fours in her 17. When she was out, Jodain Morgan (25) and Stefanie Taylor (14) ensured the victory with ease.
