Special first Test win for Windies players

Georgetown, Guyana – Sunday’s win in the First Digicel Test was special for the members of the West Indies team, but especially “sweet” for some of the younger players who were tasting victory in a Test the first time.

It was the first Test match for leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo and he celebrated the 40-run win over Pakistan with his mother, who was on hand to see the fourth day’s play at the Guyana National Stadium.

Rampaul wants to deliver KO to Pakistan

Georgetown, Guyana - Ravi Rampaul believes he could be the man to bowl the West Indies to victory in the First Digicel Test at the Guyana National Stadium. After three days of gripping action, the match is poised for a close finish. Pakistan enter Sunday's play on 80-3 in pursuit of 219. The Windies will be in search of seven wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match rubber. Rampaul was sensational with the new ball in an opening over during Saturday's post-tea session as he grabbed two wickets. This followed up his Test-best 3-27 on Friday in the first innings of this ongoing match.

Bishoo enjoys bright Black Friday

Georgetown, Guyana–West Indies leg-spinner made a dream start to his Test career when he grabbed four crucial wickets in his first bowl which occurred on Friday the 13th at the Guyana National Stadium.

The 25-year-old was the main weapon for the home side and ended with 4-68 as Pakistan were dismissed for 160 in the First Digicel Test.

This gave the Windies a lead of 66 on first innings. By the close they reached 34-2 in the second innings - an overall lead of 100, with three days left in the contest.
