Guyana v T&T now at Providence

St John’s, Antigua– The West Indies Cricket Board advises that the WICB Regional 4 Day Tournament match between Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago which was slated for the Albion Community Centre Ground has been moved to the Guyana National Stadium at Providence.

The match will commence on Friday, March 25 along with two other matches in the 7thand final league round.

Corbin falls for 97 against Guyana

Cave Hill, Barbados – Kyle Corbin narrowly missed his second century of the season as he led a spirited fightback for Combined Campuses & Colleges against Guyana on Friday at 3Ws Oval.

The 20-year-old right-hander stroked 96, an innings that formed the foundation of CC&C’s 251 on the first day of their WICB First-Class Tournament match against Guyana. At the close, Guyana were 11-1.

CC&C recovered from losing captain Omar Phillips to the first ball of the day – bowled by Brandon Bess – to post a respectable total.

Paul Slowe appointed WICB Security Manager

St John’s, Antigua– The West Indies Cricket Board announces the appointment of retired Assistant Commissioner of Police of Guyana, Paul Slowe to the post of Security Manager.

Slowe’s immediate responsibilities will include preparing a comprehensive overarching WICB Security Policy in addition to a Security Plan for the Digicel Series 2011.

Rock bottom prices for Digicel Series tickets

St John’s Antigua– The West Indies Cricket Board has considerably slashed ticket prices for the Digicel Series across the board. The WICB, in an effort to ensure that every fan across the region can attend the games without having to put a burden on their pockets, has ensured that the costs of tickets are extremely affordable.

Tickets for the 2011 Series opener, the Digicel Twenty20 at the Beausejour Cricket Grounds in St Lucia will cost a mere EC$50 (US$18.50) for all stands.

Ryan Hinds fined 65% of match fee

St John’s, Antigua– Barbados captain Ryan Hinds has been fined 65% of his match fee following the Barbados v Guyana WICB Regional 4 Day match at the Guyana National Stadium.

Hinds was reported by umpires Norman Malcolm, Nigel Duguid and Shannon Crawford for the Level 1 (1.2) charge of showing dissent by word or action at an umpire’s decision.

The charge was upgraded to Level 2 since it was Hind’s second Level 1 offence in 12 months. The first offence was during the WICB Regional 50 Over Tournament in October last.
