Umpires pay rapt attention as Nigel Duguid makes a point at the seminar.

In a invited comment international umpire Duguid said that the demands of umpiring at the higher level is challenging so the  aim of the session was to pass on the knowledge gained at the senior level to others locally so that they can become better officials. “Umpires must be equipped to handle situations at any level so it is important and they should be prepared”, he added.

President of the GCU&SA, Crawford, stated that the objective of the session was achieved and he was impressed with the camaraderie. “These sessions allow the executive to identify the areas that need to be worked on and help umpires to improve”, he said.

Shivsankar indicated that the attitude and mental preparation of the umpires are important and will take them through their careers adding that he was satisfied with the attendance.
