GCB U-17 competition bowls off tomorrow

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA - Defending champions GT&T Berbice will be looking to retain their title when the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Inter-County Under-17 competition bowls off tomorrow. 

In the first round, Essequibo will take on Demerara, before the Cinderella County team oppose the defending champions in the second round tomorrow, followed by an intense final round clash between Demerara and GT&T Berbice on Sunday. All the matches will be played at Everest Cricket Club ground from 10:00hrs each day and at the end of the tournament, the team to represent Guyana in the West Indies Cricket Board Under-17 tournament will be named.

Earlier in the week, the three counties named their squads and they are:

GT&T Berbice: Shimron Hetmyer, Balchand Baldeo, Leon Andrews, Brandon Persaud, Deon Esau, Adrian Singh, Parmanand Ramdhan, Daniel Lewis (vice-captain), Ritish Omroa, Narendra Permaul, Suraj Dookna, Kassim Khan, Grisean Grant, Kevindra Persaud. 

The standbys are: Mohan Deodatt, Davin Moriah, Jadell Jackman and Rabindranauth Roopchand with manager being Leslie Solomon and the coach Andre Percival.

Demerara: Travis Persaud (captain), Tevin Imloch (vice-captain), Ronaldo Renee, Chetnarine Pooran, Sherfane Rutherford, Clitus Johnson, Devendra Chunilall, Navindra Seeraj, Navendra Persaud, Keshram Seyhodan, Mark Hamilton, Daniel Basdeo, Carlton Jacques, and Shamar Graham. 

The standbys are: Samuel McKenzie, Sahadeo Ramkellawan, Nioli Reddy, Steven Mangal, Dextroy Williams, and Joshua Ram. The manager is Robert Adonis and the coach is Gavin Nedd. 

Essequibo: Kemo Paul, Rayan Adams, Akine Adams, Parmesh Parsotam, Mohindra Balbadar, Kevin Martinborough, Keanu Harry, Neiland Cadogan, Nathan Persaud, David Williams, Miguel Jones, Travis Drakes, Latchman Dindyal, Insaf Latchman. The manager is Nasir Mohamed and the coach is Andy Ramnarine
