GCA/Noble House Sea Foods Second Division 2-day tourney… TSC thump St. Stanislaus, GDF grab first innings from GCC

Georgetown, Guyana - Transport Sports Club defeated St. Stanislaus by an innings and 66 runs, while Guyana Defence Force (GDF) grabbed first innings points from Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ Noble House Sea Foods second division 2-day tournament continued yesterday.

At Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) ground, St. Stanislaus batted first and were bowled out for 93 in 29 overs. Samuel King scored 22 and Nicholas Doodnauth 17. Thirteen year old off spinner Joel Spooner grabbed 8-35 from 13.5 overs. TSC responded with 316-3 declared after facing 31.2 overs. Charwayne McPherson stroked 190 with thirty fours and seven sixes, while Ryan Hemraj slammed 97 (10×4,7×6). Stephan McPherson claimed 3-38 off six overs.

Trailing by 223, St. Stanislaus managed 137 all out in 32.5 overs batting a second time. Surendra Latchman cracked 91 (17×4,1×6). Spooner continued his fine form with 7-66 off 14.5 overs to end with match figures of 15-101.

At GDF, the host took first innings from Georgetown Cricket Club. GDF posted 247-9 declared in 69.5 overs, taking first strike. Marcus Watkins belted fifteen fours and two sixes in a top score of 121, while Isaiah Brijadar scored 38 (3×4), Randy Lindore and Jeremiah Harris 20 each. Stephon Wilson captured 4-57 and Treon Forde 3-40.

GCC responded with 176 all out in 58 overs. Forde was their leading batsman with 42 (5×4) while Manny Forde scored 33 (5×4) and Ronaldo Mohamed 20 (2×4). Lindore snared 3-62 and Harris 2-36.

Leading by 71, GDF in their second turn at the crease closed at 75-6 in 25 overs when stumps were drawn on the final day yesterday. Harris scored 21 and Lindore 17; Samuel McKenzie claimed 3-16.
