GCA/Hadi’s World Inc first division 2-Day…GYO, Everest grab first innings points

Georgetown, Guyana - Gandhi Youth Organistions (GYO) and Everest Cricket Club grabbed first innings points when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Hadi’s World Inc first division 2-day tournament continued last weekend.
At Malteenoes SC, Transport Sports Club and GYO played to a draw. GYO batted first and posted 360-7 in overs. Kwame Crosse stroked 154; Thritlon Liverpool scored 66, Surendra Hiralall 54, Abdool Raheem 32 and Anthony Ifill 30. Shawn Massiah claimed 3-94. TSC replied with 289 all out in 55 overs. Azeem Azeez cracked 84, while Akeem Redmond supported with 61, Ryan Hemraj made 45 and Charwayne McPherson 39. Divesh Ramjattan bagged 5-60. GYO scored 152-9, innings closed. Kres Deonarine slammed 58, Crosse continued his fine form with 41 and Raheem contributed 32. Azeez grabbed 6-30 and Kevin Ross 2-35.
Set 229 to win TSC reached 206-7 at stumps on the final day. McPherson led with 67, while Azeez and Ryan Hemraj made 40 each. Raheem captured 3-36 and Ramjattan 2-52.
At Guyana Defence Force ground, the home team and Everest game ended as a draw. Everest took first strike and managed 222 all out in 62.4 overs. Rishi Hiralall was their leading batsman with 62, while Raphael Singh scored 24, Chanderpaul Hemraj and Riyad Sattaur 19 apiece. Randy Lindore snared 5-63 and Stephen Harris 2-26. GDF responded with 189-9, innings closed. Marcus Watkins made 42, Lindore 37 and Gilford Moore 31. Troy Gonsalves bagged 7-87.
In their second turn at the crease the visitors were 200-7 in 44 overs when stumps were drawn on the last day with Joseph Perry scoring 56 and Hemraj 41; Jeremiah Harris and Watkins claimed two wickets each.
