Elizabeth Styles U-19 50 overs Giddings’ 108, 5-56 propels Edinburgh to victory

Georgetown, Guyana - A splendid all-round performance by Joseph Giddings of Edinburgh highlighted the latest matches of the ongoing Elizabeth Styles Under-19 50 over cricket competition in Berbice.

Randy Baichan crafted 85 to steer Goed Bananen Land to 168 in 29 overs with Giddings picking up 5-56 before coming back with the bat to open the innings for Edinburgh and in the process slammed 108 (4×4 4×6) to see his team to an easy eight wicket win.

Offspinner Martin Singh snared 5-39 from 10 overs and Nial Smith 4-33 from 7.3 overs for Tucber Park but Police managed to post 192 in 27.3 overs; Kwesi Mickle hit 50, his third consecutive half century in the competition.

In the tense run chase that ensued, Tucber just managed to sneak to a one wicket win despite Leon Andrews’ 4-36 with his off spinners.

Another offspinner, David Samuel had 5-28 from 6 overs to help Cotton Tree Die Hard restrict Achievers ‘B’ to 135 in 26 overs but Achievers’ medium pacer Collin Grant snapped up 5-16 from 5 overs to lead Cotton Tree’s demise for 76.
