Edwards slams 115, Hinds grabs 4/15
Bridgetown, Barbados - Kirk Edwards slammed a century and left-arm spinner Ryan Hinds grabbed four wickets on the first day of the three-day Barbados trial match at Queen's Park today.
After winning the toss and going to the crease at No. 4, Edwards scored 115 in 168 minutes off 130 balls in his team's 249 all out in 75.4 overs against Shamarh Brooks' XI, who closed on 58 for one off 12 overs with Anthony Alleyne unbeaten on 32 including five fours and one six.
Edwards struck 14 fours and four sixes before he was bowled by left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican. He added 143 in 35 overs for the fifth wicket partnership with Roston Chase.
Edwards' century came in 146 minutes off 109 balls with 12 fours and four sixes.
Chase made 45 and wicket-keeper Shane Dowrich contributed 36.
Hinds, who was brought on as the eighth bowler, took four for 15 off 10.4 overs, while medium-pacer Kevin Stoute picked up two for 28 off six overs, fast bowler Christopher Jordan, two for 36 off 11 overs and Warrican, two for 77 off 23 overs.
