ECB\Busta 50 over festival…Wakenaam, Central, EBE and Pomeroon victorious

Georgetown, Guyana - Wakenaam, Central, East Bank Essequibo and Pomeroon have recorded victories when the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB)/Busta 50 overs festival commenced yesterday.
At Pomona, Wakenaam defeated Bartica by 160 runs. Wakenaam batted first and scored 237 all out in 36 overs. Oyono Sampson led with 64 (4×5,5×4), while Ryan Adams 29, (3×6,1×4), Chadrika Ragnauth 22 (2×4), Navishaul Pooran 22 (5×4) and Seon Venture 20 not out supported well.
Roopesh Motilall grabbed 6-55 and Ravi Seenairne 2-44. Bartica were skittled for 71 in 21 overs. Kenzo Baksh made 21 (3×4) as Ricardo Adams bagged 5-9 and Ragnauth 3-27. The game was reduced to 40 overs.
At Imam Bacchus, Central beat South Essequibo by 76 runs. Central took first strike and scored 210 all out in 36 overs. Yougeshwar Lall stroked 86 while Anthony Ifill made 30; Norman Federicks and Jagdesh Dindyal took two wickets each. South were bowled out for 134 in 27.3 overs. Dindyal made 29 and Mark Gonsalves 19. Akil Wallace captured 4-12 and Lallbachan Narine 2-36.
In the other matches, East Bank Essequibo thumped Leguan by five wickets at Whyte’s Park in Leguan and Pomeroon overcame North Essequibo by five runs at Anna Regina.
The competition continues today at Imam Bacchus ground with one semifinal game.
