Dutch bat with slim chance of semis
Bridgetown, Barbados - They know now they are second favourites to qualify at the top of Group B for the Caribbean Twenty20 semi-final round but that would not stop Jamaica from trying to oust the struggling Dutch in the group stage's penultimate match. The Dutch won the toss and chose to bat first.
Both teams sit at opposite ends of the table and the tasks are quite different as well. Jamaica will be hoping to win big and pressure Barbados for the top spot in the group while the Netherlands, who have already been confirmed out of the tournament, will attempt to leave on a high.
It will be an upset of mega proportions should one take place, and an embarassment Jamaica could do without since being thumped by hosts, Barbados, by 67 runs. With Barbados taking on the Combined Campuses and Colleges in the last match of the group stage, the hosts look set to top the group while Jamaica may have to settle for second place.
Group A matches ended last night with the Windward Islands finishing on top with four wins out of four while reigning champions Trinidad and Tobago qualified in second place.
