Dover Juniors win Desmond Haynes Under-16 title for first time

Bridgetown, Barbados - Mix 96.9 FM Dover Juniors are the new winners of the Desmond Haynes Under-16 competition. Playing at the Desmond Haynes Oval in the rescheduled final they had a narrow seven-run victory over two-time dethroned champions Carlton.

The start of play in the 35 over-a-side contest was delayed due to wet conditions. Sent in, Dover Juniors made a meagre 92 for six from 26 overs but fought back gallantly to dismiss Carlton for 85 with six balls to spare.

It was the first time Carlton were defeated in the final, while it was Dover Juniors' first appearance in the final of the tournament now in its third year.
