Deosaran backs East Coast for success

Port of Spain, Trinidad - Twenty-five-year-old left-handed batsman Krishna Deosaran has expressed deep confidence that East Coast Cricket Club (ECCC) will lift the 2013 Ontario Softball Cricket League (OSCL) trophy on Sunday against their closest rivals Cricketers Cove.

The 20-over contest is highly anticipated when the action gets cracking from 9 am at the Lancaster Primary School venue.

During an exclusive interview on Wednesday, the dashing player feels his colleagues are also optimistic of making a big impression against their hosts in this grand finale.

“I [am] confident the guys will pull it off on this occasion; they beat us last year but I think we are more equipped and ready to rumble with them on Sunday,” the former Guyana under-15 skipper declared.

Deosaran in his fourth year plying his trade in North America further revealed his team played excellent in the East End Division final against Caribbean Sensation triumphing with a tense two-run win. The momentum is still there, according to him.

“We had a great match against Caribbean Sensation on Sunday; defending a challenging total (104) like that was remarkable and that really boosted our confidence tremendously; so I am very upbeat the guys will complete the season on a perfect note,” Deosaran, who represented the Guyana under-19 team too, divulged.

Cricketers Cove is the defending champion and no doubt they will be looking to replicate their performances against the same opposition.
