Deonarine, Benjamin unbeaten half centuries put Tucber Park into quarter-finals

Georgetown, Guyana - Tucber Park took first innings points from Young Warriors to end as clear winners of Zone ‘B’ (New Amsterdam/Canje) with 20 points and advanced to the quarter finals of the 2014 Tenelec Inc Under-15 Club Cricket Competition in Berbice.
Berbice Under-15 batsman Steve Deonarine and Garfield Benjamin hit undefeated half centuries in an unbroken second- wicket partnership of 145 to see Tucber Park take first innings honours.
Batting first, Young Warriors made 142 thanks mainly to a hard-hitting innings of 73 not out from Berbice Under-15 all-rounder Junior Williams. In reply, Tucber Park found themselves on 28 for 1 before Deonarine and Benjamin came together.
Both batsmen finished on 50 not out.
Meanwhile, in Zone ‘C’ (Lower Corentyne), Albion Community Centre advanced to the quarter-finals after taking first innings points from Port Mourant to end up with 21 points and runners-up to Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes.
Port Mourant, gaining valuable points from the draw, ended with 15 points to become the second runners-up of that zone and have also advanced.
Batting first, Albion Community Centre scored 133 with Kelvin Umroa making 37 and Renaldo Rowe 34. For Port Mourant, Ezekiel Kempedoo took 4 for 22, Cheddi Budhu 3 for 33 and Brandon Mangal 3 for 20.
Port Mourant responded with only 74, with Kelvin Umroa taking 3 for 13, Karran Arjpaul 3 for 25 and Renaldo Rowe 2 for 1.
Rose Hall Town Farfan and Mendes, Number 72 Cut and Load, Blairmont Community Centre and Bush Lot New Generation had earlier advanced.
