Davis, Chatrie lead Braeton past Greater Portmore

Kingston, Jamaica - A half-century from former national Under-19 invitee Kerron Davis carried Braeton Red Caps to a seven-wicket win over Hamilton Gardens in the Wray and Nephew Portmore Cricket Association T20 League action at Bridgeport Sports Club yesterday.
Davis, who was later named Man of the Match, slammed two sixes and four fours in an unbeaten knock of 59, which guided Braeton Red Caps to 123 for three off 14.1 overs.
This was in reply to Greater Portmore's 119 for six off 16 reduced overs.
Rajiv Chatrie, who hit 43 not out, inclusive of two sixes and three fours, best supported Davis in the run chase. Gerald Laing, two for 22, claimed most wickets.
Earlier, Greater Portmore's innings was centred around Gerald Laing, who made 34, and another former youth invitee, Oneil Wright, who got 31.
Dale Smith, two for eight, Joseph Lemmie, one for 19, and Omar Burke, one for 30, were the wicket takers.
The victory was Braeton's third in five matches, and it moved them into fourth position in Zone A behind leaders Waterford.
The days other match-up, in the meanwhile, saw Waterford extending their unbeaten record to five matches after registering a 26-run win over Hamilton Gardens.
Waterford batted first and posted a competitive 139 for six off 20 overs, with the in-form Richard Allen getting 57 and Marvin Lobban, 26, against Kemar Isaacs, two for 24.
Quinnue McKinson, two for 31, and discarded national off-spinner, Bevon Brown, one for 12, also got among the wickets.
Hamilton Gardens, in response, were bowled out for 113 off 18.2 overs.
