Corriverton, Number 70 MYO to contest final of Price is Right Second Division competition

Georgetown, Guyana - The two teams Corriverton Cricket Club and Number 71 MYO won their respective semi-final matches to set up a rivalry final in the Price is Right Supermarket Upper Corentyne Second Division 50-over competition.
The final is slated for Sunday April 6th, at the Skeldon Community Centre Ground.
Corriverton Cricket Club booked their place in the final when they defeated No.71 Cricket Club by 124 runs in a match which was reduced to 45 overs per side because of overnight rain.
Batting first, Corriverton piled up 250 for 8 in 45 overs with Amzaan Appalsamy topscoring with 97 not out (4×4, 9×6). He received good support from Clavern Beresford with 39 and Anthony Seeraj 25.
Bowling for Number 71, G. Jaggernauth took 3 for 62 off nine overs and K. Roopraj took 3 for 36 off seven overs. In reply, Number 71 were dismissed for 126 with Faoud Bacchus doing the damage by taking took 6 for 22 off nine overs.
Soomdat Singh topscored with 68 (4×4, 4×6) and was supported by Deoprakash Ramdat 19. Eric Phillips took 3 for 20 off four overs bowling for Corriverton.
Man of the match was Amzaan Appalsamy with a top score of 97 not out.
Meanwhile, Number 70 M.Y.O. had earlier earned the right to contest the final when they whipped Number 48 Challengers by 40 runs.
In their semi-final game played at the Number 70 ground, the host chalked up 147 all out in 36 overs with Jameel Assad 37 and Niazi Khan 26 top scoring.
Bowling for Number 48 Challengers R. Ameer took 3 for 55 off nine overs and Akshay Homraj took 2 for 28 off six .
In reply, Number 48 Challengers were bundled out for a paltry 107 with B. Persaud topscoring with a hard-hitting 57.
Bowling for Number 70 MYO Niazi Khan grabbed 5 for 20 off nine overs, Mahmood Khan 3 for 35 off eight overs and Jameel Assad returned with the ball to take 2 for 23 off two overs.
Niazi Khan was later named man of the match and he will receive $5000 along with Appalsamy at the presentation ceremony after the final ,which is set for April 6th at the Skeldon Ground.
