Cooper’s Royals up to the summit
JAIPUR, India - Kevin Cooper’s Rajasthan Royals have leapfrogged to the top of the points table after battering Kieron Pollard’s Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League on Wednesday.
Royals left Mumbai bruised with a convincing 87-run win that turned them into front runners with four wins from five matches, while Mumbai slipped to the fourth position.
Cooper, the Trinidad and Tobago bowler, picked up a wicket for 25 runs from three overs while his fellow country Pollard got a wicket for 24 runs from two overs and had his middle stumped removed for one.
After riding on Ajinkya Rahane’s unbeaten 54-ball 68 to post a formidable 179 for three, Rajatshan bowled out Mumbai for 92 in 18.2 overs.
Pollard managed just one from seven deliveries.
