Combine Forces win, lose at Windball League

PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD - Combine forces had contrasting results, on successive days, in the women division of the BGTT/councillor Roger “Zoff” Celestine-sponsored Tyro Sports Club Windball Cricket League continued in Santa Cruz.

On Thursday, Combine Forces eked out a two-run victory over Brooklyn. Nayana Sookoo made 14 and Cleo Cedeno 13 as Combine Forces reached 67 runs for nine wickets. Debbie Mohan took four wickets for 14 runs for Brooklyn. 

In reply, Brooklyn were only able to score 65/6 with Shenelle Lord hitting 15, while Sookoo got 2/12 for Combine Forces. But, on Friday, they were brought down to earth as they were beaten by a five-wicket margin by Cricket Lovers. 

Combine Forces got 20 from Falina Jack in their score of 64/7. Janelle Charles got 2/12 for Cricket Lovers. 

In their run chase, Cricket Lovers reached 65/5 with Natalie Ninah leading the way with 12.

July 10 - 

Women Division - BALL PLAYERS 105/5 - Jovanka Simon 48, Kirbyina Alexander 26 not out; Louann Morang 2/13 vs TALK NAH 52 - Antoinette Morang 10; Jeena Pitty 2/3, Unica Rosemon 2/5, Jovanka Simon 2/9, Desiree Simon 2/13. Ball Players won by 53 runs.
