Clive Lloyd On Rivalries, Then & Now

Cricket World article.

London, England - Former West Indian captain Clive Lloyd talks exclusively to Cricket World about the rivalries in the game, both during his time as captain, and in more recent times.

He famously led a side packed with world-class fast bowlers and he says that only once did the rivalry between the West Indies and opponents spill over, calling it a 'little mishap' in New Zealand.

He adds that in his playing days, teams would play hard on the field but always meet up afterwards to discuss the day's play over a drink.

Does that still happen? Lloyd isn't so sure.

Lloyd captained the West Indies between 1974 and 1985, leading them to victory in both the 1975 and 1979 World Cups.
