Champs Hillview beaten on opening day

Port of Spain, Trinidad - The opening day of the PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League Premier Division competition yesterday was filled with upsets with the defending champions Hillview College surrendering to Princes Town West Secondary and the two newcomers Vishnu Boys Hindu College and Barrackpore West Secondary both getting big wins.

Princes Town defeated Hillview by 28 runs while Vishnu Boys overcome Trinity College East by 63 runs and Barrackpore downed Naparima Boys College by 100 runs.

There were also some upsets in the Championship Division with newly promoted ASJA Boys, led by a century from D’Angelo Sanaise – 107 – defeating Toco Secondary by 183 runs, while Shiva Boys had the biggest margin of victory, beating Union Claxton Bay by 386 runs.
