Central seek redemption in InterZone final
PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD - North will face Central in the two-day BG T&T Under-19 InterZone final at the National Cricket Centre, Balmain, Couva starting today from 10 a.m. Central lost to East in the final last year so they will be seeking redemption.
In the semi-finals, they scored a first innings victory over East at Caroni Savannah Road, based mainly on half centuries from Jason Batson and Daren Charles and a good all-round performance from Bryan Charles who made 60 in the Central second innings and took three for 50 in the one East innings.
North booked their place in today’s final after they beat South East outright by seven wickets.
In a low-scoring match at the Queen’s Park Oval, North were led by nine runs on first innings, but hit back strongly in South East’s second innings with Tion Webster taking five for 35 as the opposition was limited to 129. Webster then got 36 and Jesse Bootan an unbeaten 38 as North successfully chased 139 for victory, reaching 140 for three
