Gayle returns as CCC bat first

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, CMC – Combined Campuses and Colleges won the toss and opted to bat first in the penultimate preliminary round game of the Caribbean T20 against Jamaica at the Beausejour Cricket Stadium.

CCC have already been eliminated from playoff contention while Jamaica, second on 13 points, are virtually assured of a spot in the playoffs.

Chris Gayle will play his first match of the tournament following his late call up as an injury replacement.

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, CMC – A scintillating Darren Sammy cameo helped Windward Islands overpower beleaguered Barbados and keep alive their chances of reaching the playoffs of the Caribbean Twenty20.

Barnwell full blast in Guyana win

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, CMC – Guyana withstood a late charge from Leeward Islands to carve out a 14-run win and take a huge stride towards a spot in the playoffs of the Caribbean T20 on Thursday night.

Chris Barnwell’s unbeaten 61 fired them to a challenging 156 for three off their 20 overs and they did well in the death overs to hold off the rampaging Devon Thomas and Chesney Hughes, to restrict the Leewards to 142 for five at the end of their innings.

Windies ready to face South Africans

 

CASTRIES, St. Lucia, CMC- West Indies women and South Africa women will clash in a two-match T20 International series at the Beausejour Cricket Ground in St. Lucia this weekend.

Both matches start at 4 pm eastern Caribbean time and will be played Saturday and Sunday before the play-off and Grand Final of the Caribbean T20 tournament.

The T20 games are being held after an exciting five match One Day International series in which the Caribbean side staged a remarkable come-back from two games down to draw level.

Guyana bat first against Leewards

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, CMC – Guyana won the toss and chose to bat against Leeward Islands in the 18th game of the Caribbean T20 at the Beausejour Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
