Sammy says “time is right” for CPL

Castries, St Lucia – West Indies captain Darren Sammy has welcomed the Caribbean Premier League, saying “the time is right” for such an event to be staged in the cricket-loving region.

BALLARD'S VALLEY, St. Elizabeth - Captain Tamar Lambert smashed 74 to lead Jamaica to a 58 run victory over the Jamaica Premier League All Stars in a warm-up fixture here on Sunday.

Lambert drove, swept and late-cut, accounting for 11 fours and two sixes in an attacking knock off 46 balls as Jamaica scored 188 for four wickets in 20 overs.
