Holder: Changes to T20 will benefit WI

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Manager, Cricket Operations of the West Indies Cricket Board Roland Holder said there will be several benefits to the game with the change of tournament formats for the next regional season.

Caribbean T20 gets format change

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Next year’s Caribbean Twenty20 Tournament, to be staged from Sunday, January 6 to Sunday, January 20 in Trinidad and St. Lucia, will be played under a new format.

Jamaican Michael Muirhead appointed new WICB CEO

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board today announced that accomplished management consultant Michael Muirhead has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the regional governing body.

The Board of Directors approved Mr. Muirhead’s appointment at a meeting in Barbados at the weekend. Mr. Muirhead’s appointment is for three years.

WICB thanks Dr Hilaire for service

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board at a meeting of the Board of Directors at the weekend formally thanked the departing Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ernest Hilaire for his service to West Indies cricket.

Dr. Hilaire, after serving the full term of his thee year contract, is preparing to demit office at the end of September.

Windwards name squad for CT20

CASTRIES, St. Lucia, CMC - Windward Islands cricket selectors have named a squad of 20 players from which a final team will be selected to play in next year's WICB Caribbean Twenty20 tournament.

Among the 20 players are three who did not participate in last weekend's Winlotto Windwards Twenty/20 cricket tournament held here.

They are Sunil Ambris and Kavem Hodge who are currently in Australia with the West Indies under-19 cricket team and orthodox left arm spinner Garey Mathurin of Saint Lucia playing professional League cricket in England.
