Fidel in as Bajans bowl first

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Barbados won the toss and sent Guyana in to bat in the ninth game of the Caribbean T20 at Queen’s Park Oval on Thursday night.

Barbados have made one change to their final XI, bringing in pacer Fidel Edwards for Shamarh Brooks while Guyana have included Steven Jacobs for Ronsford Beaton.

Both teams are unbeaten in the tournament.

Sammy central to Windwards victory

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – West Indies captain Darren Sammy made his presence felt with bat and ball, helping to spur his Windward Islands to a convincing 42-run over winless Combined Campuses and Colleges and to their first points of the Caribbean T20 on Thursday night.

His sensible 32 from 28 balls bolstered the Windwards lower order, enabling them to reach 129 for seven off 20 overs, after they were sent in at Queen’s Park Oval.

Brathwaite best takes Bajans to 2nd win

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad – Carlos Brathwaite continued from where Tino Best left off as Barbados made it two wins in a row on Tuesday night.

Brathwaite’s heroics came a day after Best took a personal best 4-26 and Man-of-the-Match trophy in a nine-wicket demolition of Leeward Islands at the same venue.

Bravo makes maximum impact on return

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad – When Dwayne Bravo is at full throttle it is a very good thing for Trinidad and Tobago.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – A ruthless Trinidad and Tobago stormed to the top of the Caribbean T20 standings on Wednesday night after clobbering hapless Leeward Islands by 95 runs in a lopsided affair.

The defending champions rattled up 187 for four off their 20 overs, the highest score of the tournament, after they were sent in at Queen’s Park Oval in the night’s feature contest.

Stylish stroke-maker Darren Bravo dazzled with an unbeaten 65 from 40 balls while opener Lendl Simmons hammered a belligerent 62 from 46 balls.
