Shiv ready for showdown

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Veteran West Indies left-hander Shiv Chanderpaul says he is champing at the bit for Guyana’s showdown with Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean T20 on Saturday night.

Both teams will put their unbeaten records on the line in the clash that will bring the curtain down on the first phase of the Caribbean T20 campaign, before the tournament moves to St Lucia next week.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Jamaica edged Leeward Islands in a nail-biter, pulling off an exciting win via the One-Over Eliminator to move into contention for a play-off spot in the Caribbean T20 on Friday night.

In another low-scoring contest that swung this way and that, the Jamaicans held their nerve when it mattered most, after scores were tied at the end of both innings at Queen’s Park Oval.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Jamaica won the toss and opted to bat against Leeward Islands in the tenth game of the Caribbean T20 at Queen’s Park Oval onFriday.

Jamaica are fourth on five points while the Leewards are yet to win any of their two outings.
