Caribbean Alliance sponsors Hawksbills

Caribbean Premier League Media Release.

St. John’s, Antigua – Caribbean Alliance Insurance Company Ltd. has put its full support behind the Antigua Hawksbills franchise team and signed on as principal sponsor of the team for the inaugural Limacol Caribbean Premier League T20 Tournament.

The announcement was made at the Sir Vivian Richards National Stadium just before the Hawksbills played a practice match against Antigua & Barbuda’s reigning T20 champion team, The Piggots Crushers.

Commenting on Caribbean Alliance’s sponsorship of the Hawksbills team Company Director, Alistair Letby said, “Caribbean Alliance is very proud of its Antiguan roots and the Hawksbills gives us a perfect platform to be part of a team that will bring excitement and inspire loyalty across the Island, not just for this year, but for many years to come.

As Caribbean Alliance begins the next chapter in its history, we are delighted to be part of something new and exciting that will make such a difference to the local communities whilst also putting Antigua back on the cricketing map.”

With Sir Viv Richards managing the team and leading franchise players Marlon Samuels and Ricky Ponting being part of an exceptionally talented group of players, the Hawksbills are tipped as one of the favourites for this year’s tournament.

The inaugural Limacol Caribbean Premiere League T20 Tournament begins on 30 July in Barbados.  The Hawksbills play their first match on 1 August at Kensington Oval against the Barbados Tridents.  Matches will take place at the Sir Vivian Richards National Stadium on 13th, 15th and 17th August.
