Captain Taylor hits blistering 62

West Indies Women went on the rampage in the last five overs, thumping 47 runs, as they rattled up 129 runs for four wickets off their 20 overs in the second T20 International at Kensington Oval. A boundary-studded fifth-wicket stand of 46 off 36 balls between captain Stafanie Taylor and teenager Shemaine Campbelle boosted the Windies cause at the ‘death’.

Taylor played a number of powerful shots as she topscored with 62 while Campbelle (22 not out) was nimble on her feet and brilliant running between the wickets as she ended on 22. Taylor faced 49 balls and hit six boundaries and a big six into the Garfield Sobers Pavilion.

Earlier in the innings, the Windies were off to a great start with an opening stand of 50 between Taylor and the veteran Juliana Nero, who made 29 off 32 balls with five boundaries.
