Campbell happy with Women's squad

Kingston, Jamaica - Coach Sherwin Campbell is comfortable with the composition of the West Indies Women's squad ahead of their three-match one-day international series against former world champions New Zealand at Sabina Park.
The 17-member squad, which is currently engaged in a one-week training camp in Jamaica ahead of the series, includes a combination of young and experienced players.
Campbell says this represents an ideal mix as the team looks to continue its upward curve in the game. West Indies made it to the final of the ICC Women's World Cup for the first time earlier this year in India.
"It is a reasonable and balanced squad that is capable of defeating New Zealand again," said Campbell, the former West Indies opening batsman.
"We have experienced players, whose contribution and leadership is vital, as well, as a couple of young and exciting players with a bright future."
West Indies, who defeated New Zealand for the first time in semi-final round play-off action at the World Cup, will look to top-rated players Deandra Dottin and Stafanie Taylor, all-rounder Shanel Daley, and off-spinner Anisa Mohammed.
Barbadian Dottin, who has the distinction of scoring the fastest century in Women's cricket, is ranked sixth and 10th in the ICC Women's Twenty20 and one-day international batting rankings, respectively.
Taylor, the former ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year, is ranked seventh in both rankings, while Trinidadian Mohammed is ranked sixth in the One Day bowling rankings.
Daley, meanwhile, is ranked number one on the Twenty20 bowling listing, and fourth on the One Day all-rounder equivalent.
Campbell believes West Indies must be at their best to beat New Zealand.
"New Zealand are a pretty established team in terms of being in the top four for the last four to five years," he said. "This year, was first time ever that we were beating them and, to do so again this series, we will have to be on top of our game."
The series will bowl off next Sunday, October 6, with the second match set for Tuesday, October 8, and third and final on Thursday, October 10.
