Bonner hits a century in Jamaica trials

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Jamaica’s middle order batsman Nkrumah Bonner scored an attractive hundred in a second trial match before the start of the regional Super 50 and four-day competitions.

Bonner hit 104 for Tamar Lambert X1 against a team lead by Dave Bernard Junior as the defending champions fine tune preparations for their opening engagements against Barbados next week.

His innings included five sixes and seven fours while Nikita Miller top-scored for Bernard Junior XI with 54 in the 50 overs a side match.

The two teams were scheduled to begin a three-day practice match from Wednesday.

Jamaica, defending champions in both versions, open their campaign next Thursday with a Super50 showdown against Barbados at Kensington Oval.

The teams will then meet two days later for the opening round of the four-day tournament at the same venue.
