Port of Spain, Trinidad - Prior to their team’s training session for the upcoming Test Series in the Caribbean, West Indies players Shannon Gabriel, Sulieman Benn, Shane Shillingford, Darren Bravo and Denesh Ramdin joined some young Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago (SOTT) cricketers representing Goodwill Industries and the Life Centre for a one-hour session which included bowling, batting and fielding routines.

The Digicel initiative was a ‘Great boost for the SOTT cricketers who could touch and talk to their stars in person’, said SOTT Cricket Coach, David Asgarali.

Coach Asgarali indicated that the team is now preparing for the Cricket Festival, which will take place on June 28 at Constantine Park, Macoya, where over 150 athletes will be competing.

Asgarali concluded by commending Digicel and the Digicel Foundation for the tremendous support that they have been offering to the Special Olympics throughout the years.
