Kingston, Jamaica - Belair Preparatory School defeated St James Preparatory by six wickets to be crowned the 2014 Scotiabank/Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Prep-School All-Island cricket champions at the Lucas Oval on Friday.

Scores: St James 93-9 (25 overs); Belair 96-4 (12 overs).

Batting first on a slow, flat pitch St James got off to a terrible start when siblings Justin Green and Darren Green combined to take five wickets. After losing Ajahni Burgers (one) to a superb caught and bowled by Kaymani Grashin in the first over, Justin Green then removed Gabrielle Bryan (two) and Shane Sunderland (zero) to leave the St James-based team struggling at 16-2.

Leonjre Anderson was then run out for three before Darren Green started to rip through the middle of St James' batting order. He removed Wayne Murray (four) and Deuri Williams (zero) before Anil Braham (nine) and Rosaun Phillip added 32 runs for the seventh-wicket partnership to take the score to 81-7. But when Braham fell victim to Justin Green, St James' innings came to an end.

St James innings was built mainly around extras, 62 (54 wides, five no-balls, two leg-byes and one byes).

Justin Green finished with 3-9 and Darren Green 2-15 for Belair Prep.

In reply, and needing to score at 3.76 runs-per-over to win, Belair reached their target with 13 overs to spare. Man-of-the-Match Grashin led the successful run chase with a patient 31 not out from 22 balls -- he struck three boundaries and shared in two key partnerships.
