BCA clears air on points for matches reduced to one day in Elite and First divisions

Barbados Cricket Associations article.

Bridgetown, Barbados - During the 7th series of matches in the Barbados Cricket Association’s Elite Division, two games were reduced to one (1) day only and there was some speculation over the manner in which the points in those games would be allocated.

One match in the First division was also reduced to one day.

Points in these Divisions are awarded in a two-tier system:

Batting and bowling points

Match points

These are the only Divisions in which batting and bowling points apply.

When games are reduced to one day only a different scale for match points applies: eg the team winning the match gains 5 points as opposed to 12 points in the longer version of the game. This is covered in Regulations # 26 and 19 respectively.

The regime for batting or bowling points remains unaffected by the duration of the game.
