Hampshire & T&T prevail on Day 4 of CT20

North Sound, Antigua – Hampshire Royals pulled off a stunning Super Over win against Barbados on Day 4 of the Caribbean Twenty20 2011 while Trinidad & Tobago thumped Leeward Islands by 56 runs to register their first win in their opening game.

In the first game of the day Hampshire, led by some exquisite fast bowler by Simon Jones and Barbados played to a tie then Barbados failed to score any runs in their Super Over as Hampshire scrambled the single to win.

CCC win second CT20 warm-up

Cave Hill, Barbados – Combined Campuses and Colleges defeated Barbados by six wickets to win the second Caribbean T20 warm-up match on Wednesday night.

The students limited the Bajans to 100-9 off 20 overs and then replied with 105-4 to win with 19 balls to spare. Off-spinner Ryan Austin took 4-16 off four overs and leg-spinner Nikolai Charles had 2-19 off four overs as the batsmen struggled at the 3Ws Oval.

Carter stars in CT20 warm-up

Bridgetown, Barbados – West Indies A Team batsman Jonathan Carter had an outstanding match as Barbados beat Combined Campuses and Colleges by six wickets in a warm-up for the Caribbean T20. The 23-year-old Carter grabbed 4-23 with his right-arm medium pace as CCC made 127-9 at the 3Ws Oval on Tuesday. Carter, who was recently picked in a 30-man West Indies squad for next year’s Cricket World Cup, then hit three straight sixes in an unbeaten 42 as the Bajans won with an over to spare.

Retainer contracts for 15 in Barbados

Bridgetown, Barbados – Four players with international experience – allrounders Ryan Hinds and Dwayne Smith, opening batsman Dale Richards and fast bowler Tino Best – are among 15 players offered one-year contracts by the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).
